Stampin' Up! Reindeer Fun ~ Ink & Inkspiration Blog Hop

Hey Stamper!  Welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop.  I'm excited to be part of this fun & creative group sharing stamping inspiration with you today.

This month's inspiration is the sketch below.  After decades of stamping and years of participating in Blog Hops, sketches are still my favorite!

When I sat down to create for this sketch, I immediately pulled out my brand new Reindeer Days Suite and Festive Glimmer Paper.  I ended up not using ALL of the suite this time, but I'm sure I will use it all another day.

I love that the new Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder is so big!  at 6" x 8-1/2" you can do a LOT with this embossing folder.  I embossed the entire front of the card before adding on the strip of DSP to the side.

Stampin' Up! Leaf Collection ~ Sketch Saturday

Hello & welcome!  Today's card was created for Sketch Saturday's Challenge 760.  This is the first day of the challenge and you have two weeks to play along.  The optional twist for this card challenge is to make it masculine.  I tried the optional challenge, not sure how well I succeeded on that part!

The background is one large stamp.  I didn't want it all to be one color, so I inked it with the lighter Lost Lagoon ink pad first.  Then, I went back over some of the leaves with the Pretty Peacock Stampin' Write Marker.

I used the Deckled Rectangles Dies to create the borders, using the one slightly smaller for thinner border.

The leaves from the Unbounded Love Dies were the perfect accent to add above the sentiment. They are also great placed on the corner of the white cardstock inside the card.

This was a fun layout to try.  It stretched my creativity a bit and I can't wait to see what others do with it!

Stampin' Up! Autumn Leaves ~ Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog!  I'm so happy to be joining the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop today.  I love being a part of these fun hops with other stampers sharing what we love and create!  Links to all the other blog posts for this hop are near the end of this post - be sure to check them out!  Hopefully you will be as inspired as I always am seeing what everyone else creates for this month's challenge.

This month's challenge was a new Tic-Tac-Toe board!  These used to intimidate me more than other challenges, but not so anymore. Now I find a fun choose-your-own adventure type of challenge where I can pick whichever row sparks my creativity!  For this one, it was a tossup between the top row and the middle column.  I really wanted to use my alphabet dies, so ultimately decided on top row.

Fall ~ Autumn Leaves Stamps & Dies
Clear ~ Window Sheets
A-B-C ~ Mini Alphabet Dies and Alphabet A La Mode Dies

I found that Stampin' Seal was best for adhering the cardstock to the Window Sheet. However, for the letters I used the Adhesive Sheets for 'HAPPY' and Foam Adhesive Sheets for 'FALL'.  The trick to using these sheets is that you have to remember to place them on the back of your cardstock BEFORE die cutting.

For the inside I had a bit of a silent debate on where to put the stamped leaf.  In the end, I decided to keep it in the top portion that was attached to the card.  I didn't want to risk it showing through the white cardstock AT ALL.  I did stamp off before stamping the two-step leaf stamp.

As I said before, my card was inspired by the top row of the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge, but it was also inspired by a fun card I saw on Pinterest a while back. (I think by Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Meg Loven) This is such a fun way to use Window Sheets, I had to try it!

Stampin' Up! Greetings of the Season ~ Sketch Saturday

Hello & welcome!  Today's card was created for Sketch Saturday's Challenge 759.  This is the first day of the challenge and you have two weeks to play along.  The optional twist for this chard challenge is to feature a sentiment.

You may have already noticed that my card doesn't look exactly like the sketch.  That is because my mind wandered a bit while I was stamping, and I ended up stamping on the wrong side of the die cut piece.  I considered starting over when I realized what I had done, but decided it was fine to just switch everything up a bit!

After stamping my sentiment with Versamark and Heat Embossing with White Embossing Powder, the sentiment just wasn't standing out enough.  SO, I used a Small Blending Brush and added a light layer of Pretty Peacock ink around the sentiment.  Once I had the ink the way I wanted, I used a microfiber cloth to wipe the extra ink from the sentiment itself.

I love this layout and am looking forward to making more cards with it in the future!  Maybe next time I'll pay attention and stamp on the correct side. 😉
