Stampin' Up! Spotlight on Nature ~ Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop

Hey Stampers!  Welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop.  I'm excited to be part of this fun & creative group sharing stamping inspiration with you today!

Our inspiration this month came from the photo below.  Its another beautiful flower photo, full of gorgeous colors!  The photo made me want to stamp a flower, so I chose the new Spotlight on Nature stamps.

In order to use ALL of the colors in the challenge, I started by coloring on my stamp with Stampin' Up! Write Markers*.  This was one of the first techniques I learned almost 20 years ago, and still one of my favorites.  The bottom part of the flowers were colored with Garden Green, while the flowers themselves were colored with Poppy Parade. After coloring, "huff" on the stamp before stamping. The flowers were then colored in with Peach Pie and Granny Apple Green Stampin' Write Markers.

*It is very important to use Stampin' Write Markers NOT Stampin' Blends when coloring on stamps.

I then stamped the butterfly on a scrap piece of paper with my Melon Mambo Pad and colored it in with a Bubble Bath Stampin' Write Marker.  The butterfly was attached with Stampin' Dimensionals after fussy cutting it.

I stamped the sentiment a bit crooked and it was driving me a bit crazy, so I first tried stamping and fussy cutting the sentiment on a scrap piece of paper.  I didn't leave a big enough border to enable me to cover the crooked sentiment and straighten the new one.  So, the next step was to cut a strip of Bubble Bath Cardstock wide enough to cover the stamped sentiment.  I glued the fussy cut sentiment directly to the strip, then attached the strip with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stampin' Up! Charming Duck Pond ~ Sketch Saturday

Hello & Welcome!  Today's card was created for Sketch Saturday's Challenge #751.  This is the first day of the challenge and you have two weeks to play along.  (Last day is May 31, 2024)  The optional twist for this card challenge is to use a die cut shape.

I'm so excited about this card because I've had a new stamp set sitting on my desk for a week that I have been impatient to use, but haven't had the time to stamp this week because of normal life!  This sketch was the perfect excuse to open up this Charming Duck Pond stamp set and it's coordinating dies, paper & embellishments.

To make this card work the way I wanted it to, I took a little creative liberty with the sketch, turning the card base and leaving out the straight pieces.  The only stamping is the sentiment...everything else was cut with the coordinating dies.  The duck is from the coordinating Lily Pond Lane Designer Series Paper...I love it when dies are sized and shaped to perfectly cut from the DSP!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today!  I hope you are able to play along with this month's sketch.  Don't forget to visit the original blog post at Sketch Saturday to find even more inspiration from the rest of the Sketch Saturday Design Team.

Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Trusty Tools ~ Stamping Inkspirations

Hello and welcome to my blog!  I'm so happy to be joining the Stamping Inspirations Blog Hop today.  I love being a part of these fun Blog Hops with other stampers sharing what we love and create!  Links to all the other blog posts for this hop are near the end of this post - be sure to check them out!  Hopefully you will be as inspired as I always am seeing what everyone else creates for this month's challenge.

This month our challenge was to create a card using the sketch below.  I love how perfect this sketch is for practically any stamp set.  It was especially perfect for the stamp set I have been playing with recently and will be using in my May In Person class, Trusty Tools.

This sketch is perfect for using with Designer Series Paper as the background.  This time, instead of using purchased DSP, I decided to make my own!  First, I stamped the various tools on a piece of Basic White Cardstock.  Then, I colored those tools with Stampin' Blends.  Once everything was colored, I stamped a few of the nuts & bolts in the empty places.  Finally, I trimmed the finished cardstock to the size I wanted.

I love the finished look that the Black mat gives the card.  Once I had my card assembled, with the 'Dad' popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals, I added a few Basic Gray Pearls around the front of the card.

I believe this sketch is going to be pretty handy when creating quick cards with DSP.  I'll definitely be revisiting it in the future!  Now, I'm excited to see what the other designers in this Blog Hop have created!  Click the image below to hop along to the next blog for more inspiratin.
