Stampin' Up! Gone Fishing ~ Father's Day Card

 

Father's Day is just under three weeks away, are you ready?  This could be the perfect card for the father(s) in your life!  Or, change the sentiment and it's a great masculine birthday card. 

Other than the sentiment, all the stamps on this card are Two-Step Stamps, which means you stamp one layer (stamp) in one color, and there's a second, coordinating stamp you can layer over the first stamp in another color.  Technically, the lure in the middle is a Two-Step stamp, but I decided to get a little creative with it and just add the second stamp as a second piece.  After fussy cutting that little piece, I layered it on with a Mini Glue Dot near the top. 

The fish is so fun to stamp in different colors, I just kept stamping with it!  I ended up adding it inside of the card and on the envelope flap.

Stampin' Up! Gone Fishing - Tackle Box Shaker Card

 

The first time I flipped through the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog and saw this Gone Fishing stamp set, along with the rest of the Let's Go Fishing Suite, I immediately thought of my dad.  My second thought, was how perfect the dies are for a masculine shaker card!  

No fancy frills inside this shaker card, but there are some fun elements!  I used scraps of Silver Specialty Paper for the weights and hooks.  Then, I frayed a bit of Parakeet Party Metallic Ribbon and attached it to the lure in the bottom right section.  

For the inside, I stamped a fish in Mossy Meadow and Parakeet Party (it's a two-step stamp) and used the 'Happy Retirement' sentiment.  This card would also be great with the 'Congrats' sentiment on the inside!

Stampin' Up! Around the Bend ~ Thank You Card

 

 This handmade Thank You Card was created with Stampin' Up!'s Around the Bend stamps & dies.  With an extra die from Nested Essentials dies.  

To create a card like this, choose a 4-6 of your favorite colors.  Then, layer on the the pieces, one at a time.  I started with the large, leafy border die from Around the Bend dies, then added several of the smaller leaf dies.  After that, I added the flowers, then tucked in a few of the smaller leaves.  Finally, I finished with the sentiment piece and a few of the Brushed Brass Butterflies.  Other than the sentiment, everything was adhered with Liquid Glue.

Stampin' Up! Around the Bend - In the Moment

 

hello.  Have you tried combining the Around the Bend stamp set from Stampin' Up! with other stamps yet?  I decided to step a little outside my normal with this card, and I am so glad I did!  I wanted to use my Gilded Leafing, but I also wanted to use some bright colors. This card, with beautiful colors, Gilded Leafing details and In the Moment Stamps is the result.

'Splattering' the Gilded Leafing on the background is one of my favorite ways to use this stuff.  You can see how I did that in this Vintage Christmas YouTube Video I shared last October. 

After cutting the edge of the card base with the Around the Bend Die, I used an old & damp paintbrush to apply a layer of liquid glue to a scrap piece of Basic White Cardstock.  Then, I covered the glue with Gilded Leafing, pressing it into the glue and smoothing it out.  I attached one edge of the finished piece to the edge of the front of the card, so that it finished off the card front. 

To get just the 'hello' sentiment from the Around the Bend stamps, mask 'THERE' with a small sticky note before inking and stamping the sentiment.  Heat emboss the sentiment with Gold Embossing Powder, then fussy cut.

Stampin' Up! Around the Bend ~ hello there

 

hello there.  I love a card with this sentiment!  If you have been following me long, you probably have noticed that I LOVE a great sentiment.  In fact, many times I will decide to purchase a stamp set, or not, based on how lovely the sentiments are...both visually and sentimentally. 

For this card, I decided to use the Around the Bend border die a little bit differently, placing it near the top of the card instead of the bottom.  It didn't reach all the across, but that's okay because the flowers cover the empty, awkard place. 

I'm going to tell on myself now.  I wasn't sure if I wanted to add a few of the little flowers, or use a bit of bling when I started this card.  After I smudged a bit of ink on the white cardstock near the sentiment, my mind was quickly made up!  The flowers were perfect for covering the smudges and look lovely where they were placed.  Another happy accident!

Stampin' Up! Around the Bend ~ thank you card

 

You are a blessing!  You are! Also, isn't that just the sweetest sentiment?  There's many different reasons you would want to make sure that someone knows that they are a blessing to you.  This is a fantastic Mother's Day card, but also a beautiful Thank You card.  Or just, I'm so glad you are in my life, type card. 

I started by die cutting the front of the card with the coordinating Around the Bend Dies.  Then, I positioned the sentiment exactly where I wanted it, making sure the curve was perfect.  Once it was perfectly positioned, I used my Clear Block to pick up the sentiment stamp, inked it, and stamped!

Stampin' Up! Zany Zoo ~ Spotlight Card

 

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by.  I don't normally blog on Sundays, but I've been having SO much fun with my Zany Zoo stamp set, I just wasn't quite ready to put it away yet!  

Once again, I've used Watercolor Pencils (Assortment 2) to color the images on this card.  I did go over the leopard again with a Blender Pen, but not the DSP on the bottom of the card. 

To create the spotlight, I used my paper trimmer to cut the cardstock in a triangle, then slipped the wide end into my Oval Punch to cut off the end and make it curvy.

Stampin' Up! Zany Zoo ~ Casually Crafting Blog Hop

 

Hey there!  Thanks for stopping by!  Today I'm taking part in a blog hop with the Casually Crafting Design Team!  We are an international group of Independent Stampin' Up! This month we were challenged to create 'For the Boys'!  I love this challenge, because it can sometimes be difficult to create for guys, whether young or old.  Plus, this challenge ties in perfectly with my Stamp Set of the Week, Zany Zoo!  

This birthday card is perfect for a young boy and for a new stamper!  It requires few supplies and you get to color with Watercolor Pencils.  Then, you can step up the coloring a notch by going over your coloring with a Blender Pen, just to blend and smooth the colors a bit.

How fun is this little mini scene of an alligator riding a bike!?  The Zany Zoo stamp set by Stampin' Up! is just almost too much fun!  

This set is so fun to create with, and makes creating kid's birthday cards super easy.  The images are great to color with Stampin' Blends, or Watercolor Pencils.  For my Zany Zoo Class to Go, which includes this card, I have decided to use the Watercolor Pencils.  I love the way they color, and especially blending them with Stampin' Blends.  I think you will, too!

Stampin' Up! Zany Zoo ~ Celebrate

  A great way to get over a creative slump is to just stamp and color!  Save your finished pieces and come back a few hours, or days, later and create with those images.  After being sick and unable to spend time in my craft room for a couple of weeks, that's exactly what I did!

This little skunk with the bird on his head is a fun little image.  Did you notice that these colors, other than the black, are new/returning this year?  Even the Rhinestones & binoculars were colored with a Moody Mauve Stampin' Blend, which is a brand new 2023-2025 In Color!

Stampin' Up! Zany Zoo ~ Too Wonderful

 

I adore stamp sets that include animals doing people things, like Stampin' Up!'s new Zany Zoo stamp set!  With cute animals riding bikes, singing, dancing, knitting and more, this stamp set is great for celebrating birthdays, babies and more!

The first thing I did when I opened up this stamp set was to stamp and color a few of the images.  I didn't have a plan, so after coloring them I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  I set them aside for a few days, then came back and made some cards! The banner at the top of this card was also cut out with one of the amazing dies from Zany Zoo Dies.
