Stampin' Up! Best Day ~ Birthday Card

When I first opened up my Best Day stamp set from Stampin' Up!, I thought of all the fun ways I could color it.  Then, I surprised myself by starting off my week with this set by only using Basic Black, Basic White & Fresh Freesia!  I just thought it was the perfect way to use this sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday.  In my opinion, pretty much any single color paired with just Black and White looks great!  Of course, purple...ALL the purples...is/are my favorite!

To create the purple background for the cake, I placed my Basic White Cardstock on my Grid Paper and taped down the edges with craft tape.  It was then easy to blend some Fresh Freesia ink, gradually getting lighter the closer to the center I got.

Be careful when pulling the craft tape up.  I got a little hasty and ended up with a tiny boo-boo on the edge of my Basic White Cardstock.  To cover it up, I just added a small bow with the coordinating Basic Black Twine.
