Stampin' Up! Beautifully Happy ~ Sketch Saturday

I have had so much fun with my Stamp Set of the Week, Beautifully Happy, this week!  Every card has been fun and different, with different parts of the set emphasized.  You can really do a lot with this one!  

Today's card was inspired by this seriously fun sketch from Sketch Saturday.  Be sure to visit the post for this one so you can see the cards from the rest of the Design Team and play along!

My color inspiration came from the Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper (say that 3x fast 😄) used for the background.  This might be a new favorite color combo!  (I think I have a new favorite every week.)  

The heart elements in the sketch are perfect, but I decided to replace them anyway.  These Opal Rounds were beside me begging to be used!  One really needed to be in the center of the flower (even though there's a tiny stamp for that), then it needed some more to balance things out.

Inside this card I added just a portion of the same stamp used on the front of the card.  The white cardstock attached to the inside looks terribly crooked.  Just know that's a reflection of my poor photography skills, not my crafty stamping skills!  lol

Stampin' Up! Beautifully Happy ~ Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop

 

Hey Stampers & Friends!  Welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop.  I'm excited to be part of this fun and creative group sharing stamping ideas with you today!

This month's color & inspiration challenges come from the photo below.  My card was definitely inspired by the color combination this time, rather than the photo.  That photo though...Love it!  I'm sitting here shivering in my craft room (it's not THAT cold, I just can't seem to get warm) and a nice, warm tropical beach sounds perfect right now!  (Who am I kidding, a nice warm tropical beach ALWAYS sounds nice!)

I'm loving the ease of using Beautifully Happy stamps, which is a two-step stamp set.  It's so easy to stamp the outline image, then add the inside layers with beautiful color!  There's even a tiny little stamp for the center of the large flower, but I typically prefer adding a fun element there.  For this card, I added an Adhesive-Backed Milky Dot to the center of the flower, then placed a couple more around the sentiment. 

My favorite thing about this type of fun fold card is that when you decorate the inside, you can add a little something extra that can be seen even while the card is closed.  I did make sure to stamp the rest of the sentiment towards the left of the inside layer, so that it wasn't showing while closed.

Stampin' Up! Beautifully Happy

 

For today's card with my Stamp Set of the Week, Beautifully Happy, I focused on the sentiments and added the little bee for a bit of fun.  Sketch 590 from Try Stampin' On Tuesday  was the perfect inspiration for this card!  

Has anyone ever told you that fussy cutting can be addictive?  I don't think I would have believed it if someone had told me that.  I would now!  I find myself fussy cutting everything that doesn't have a die cut, and sometimes even some things that do.  This little bee has got to be the smallest image I have ever cut around...those little legs were tricky!  (Join me in my Facebook Group for a tip on how to get the perfectly dark edges on your fussy cut items later this week!)

Stampin' Up! Adorable Owls ~ Casually Crafting Blog Hop

 

Hey there!  Thanks for stopping by!  Today I'm taking part in a blog hop with the Casually Crafting Design Team!  We are an international group of Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who want to share our take on casual crafting.  We will share what we love with you monthly.  Be sure to check out the rests of the design team's projects using the links at the bottom of this post.

Our challenge this month was to create a casual card using at least one item from Sale-a-bration.  I'm loving quite a lot, if not all, of the Sale-a-bration products.  So, the hardest part of this was to pick which one I was going to use!  Well, that would have been the hardest part, except for the fact that Adorable Owls just happens to be my Stamp Set of the Week here on my blog.  I've said it before and I'm sure I will say it many more times, this set is perfect for all levels of stampers!  It's SO good. 

For today's card I started by coloring my owl with Stampin' Blends in Smoky Slate, Pumpkin Pie and Mossy Meadow.  Then I looked for Designer Series Paper that included one of these colors and decided on this piece from Abigail Rose DSP.  I wanted something to break things up a little, so decided to a couple of pieces of Glittered Organdy Ribbon, colored with my Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blend.

Stampin' Up! Adorable Owls ~ Hoot Hoot

 

Hoot! Hoot! Stampin' Up!'s Adorable Owls is so fun to create with!  It's great for stampers of ALL levels.  Here I have made a card based on another super sketch, this one from Tuesday Morning Sketches.  This is their Sketch #691.  

I keep finding myself using some of the tried and true techniques I learned when first beginning to stamp.  For instance, on this card I masked the 'You're so cute' text under the 'Hoot! Hoot!'  In my opinion, this is one of the easiest ever techniques.  I keep Post It Notes handy at my desk to cover any part of a stamp that I don't want to ink up.  

I've been wanting to use my Timber 3D Embossing Folder on a card with an owl.  I thought it was perfect for this sketch and was so excited to get to open my new Fancy Flora DSP to use as the center strip of the background.  This DSP is SO pretty!

Of course, I couldn't resist adding the birthday owl to the inside of this card.  I'll probably be adding this one to the envelope as well.  The 'happy birthday' stamp is from Shaded Summer.

Stampin' Up! Adorable Owls

 

Try Stampin' On Tuesday's Challenge 589 inspired this fun card featuring Stampin' Up!'s Adorable Owls.  I considered adding a sentiment to the front of the card, maybe on the banner, but ultimately decided to leave it blank. Sometimes, it's just nice to have a fun card that doesn't have a preplanned purposed, ya know?  

Instead of using the circles through the center of the card, the owls stand out enough on their on own.  I didn't want to have to many layers or pieces to this one, especially since the patterns are already so busy.  I LOVE the colors on the Regency Park Designer Series Paper...they were a perfect starting point for coloring the owls' eyes and bowtie.

Stampin' Up! Share a Milkshake ~ Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop

 

Hello and welcome to my blog!  I'm excited to be joining the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop today.  I love being a part of these fun Blog Hops with other stampers sharing what we love and create!  Links to all the other blog posts for this hop are near the end of this post! - be sure to check them out! Hopefully you will be as inspired as I always am seeing what everyone else creates for this month's challenge.

Once again, this month’s sketch is perfect for practically any stamps.  I don’t have a diamond shaped die cut, and didn’t want to cut one myself.  Instead, I used the 2nd largest square die from Stylish Shapes Dies and turned it for somewhat of a diamond shape.  The result was perfect and great place to place my milkshake. 

The Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper used for the background of this card is going to be a pack of DSP I use often over the coming weeks.  This is a huge pack of fun designs in delightful colors that can be used with anything.  Bonus: this paper pack is FREE during Sale-a-bration with a $100 purchase. (Sale-a-bration runs January-February 2023)

Stampin' Up! Share a Milkshake ~ Sketch Saturday

 

One of the things I really enjoy about blogging is being part of different design teams for other blogs or blog hops.  Sketch Saturday is the first design team I was added to.  Today’s card was created for Sketch Saturday #717.

Part of the fun with Sketch Saturday’s sketches is that there’s a sketch and an optional ‘twist’.  For instance, this week’s challenge is the sketch and the added challenge of using a new stamp (or newer).  Stampin’ Up!’s new Mini Catalog was just released this month, so I have several new stamps to use.  Thankfully, my Stamp Set of the Week, Share a Milkshake, was perfect for this sketch!

Stampin' Up! Share a Milkshake

 

I am so happy to be able to relax in my craft room and create with this beautiful new stamp & die bundle, Share a Milkshake, from the 2023 January-April Mini Catalog.  Stampin' Up! has once again listened to customers and demonstrators and has started naming die set with the same name as the coordinating stamp set.  This will make it much easier for all of us to remember the names!   

 Today's card was inspired by the above sketch challenge from Try Stampin' On Tuesday.  Be sure to check out this sketch challenge, the newest challenge AND past challenges over on Try Stampin' On Tuesday's blog for more inspiration. 

The colors in the background paper, Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper, inspired the color choices for this card.  I felt that most of them were perfect for the milkshake and card base.  In fact, I think you could switch up the combinations for many different cards with the same layout.

Stampin' Up! Happy Hedgehogs ~ Bride & Groom

 

This was such a fun card to create, and came together really quickly!  It started with a Pinterest search for some color inspiration.  I wanted to know what the top colors of 2022 were, and wedding colors popped up at the top of the list.  

Once I saw colors similar to these, under the heading of 2022 Wedding Colors (or something along those lines) the card quickly came together!

The groom hedgehog's bowtie was the most difficult part of the card, everything else was easy with a capital 'E'.  For the bowtie, I colored a small piece of Sweet Sorbet Metallic Ribbon with a black permanent marker, leaving little hints of the Sweet Sorbet color peaking between the black.  Then, I tied the tiniest bow of my life and trimmed off the ends.  To attach it to the hedgehog, I used half of a Glue Dot, folded in half.  (Cut the Glue Dot in half while still on the backing, then use the sharp tip of the Take-Your-Pick Tool to fold it over.)

I'm just so happy with how this card turned out.  I hope you like it too!
