Stampin' Up! Brilliant Wings with Glimmer Paper

 

oops.  I did it again.  I used the Brilliant Wings Dies, but did not use the Butterfly Brilliance Stamps!  Oh well...tomorrow's card will for sure feature the stamps.  ;)  

This card is quick and easy to put together.  The butterflies were die cut from 2022-2024 In Color Glimmer Paper (these pictures REALLY do not do the card justice!)  Then attached with a combination of Liquid Glue and Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.  The bodies were all attached with the glue, while some of the wings were lifted up a bit with dimensionals. 

For the 'hello', I used my Stamparatus so I could stamp several times to get a nice, dark, solid sentiment.  Then I used Paper Snips to fussy cut around it before attaching it with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stampin' Up! Brilliant Wings ~ hello you

 

OOPS!  My plan this week was to spotlight Butterfly Brilliance stamp all week.  Today's card I was just excited about butterflies...I used Brilliant Wings Dies, but forgot to use the coordinating Butterfly Brilliance stamp.  Oh well, there's always tomorrow, right? In the meantime, I do love this card.  

This layout is very easy and versatile, you can pretty much use any shape, stamps or Designer Series Paper.  This Sun Prints DSP is perfect, with the contrasting stripes when the corner is folded down.  (To fold that corner, all I did was figure out which stamp I was using so I knew how much room I needed.  Then I just folded the corner down and gave it a nice crease with my bone folder)

I just realized what I should have done to make this a card using the Butterfly Brilliance stamps!  I'm not going to remake it tonight, but maybe one day.  Anyway, to use the stamps instead of the dies, just stamp the butterfly with versamark ink, then heat emboss with white embossing powder.  Perfection!

Stampin' Up! Butterfly Brilliance ~ Card from the Catalog

This week's Card from the Catalog inspiration can be found on p. 116 of the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog.  Both the inspiration card and my card feature Stampin' Up!'s Butterfly Brilliance stamp and Brilliant Wings Dies.  

The original card gets its greeting from the One Happy Family stamp set.  Since I don't have that one, I had to look through all my stamps to find a stamp small enough to fit on the 2nd to smallest butterfly die...easier said than done!  I ended up pulling out a stamp from my April 2015 Paper Pumpkin Kit!

Stampin' Up! Jar of Flowers ~ Thank You!

 

Jar of Flowers has been my 'Stamp Set of the Week' this week and I'm ending with a sweet Thank You Card!  This stamp set is so versatile, it doesn't come with any sentiments but can be paired with practically any sentiment stamp you have on hand!  In fact, a sentiment isn't even required if you just want to create some blank note cards.  

For each card this week I created the jar differently.  This final jar was created by first stamping the jar with Tuxedo Black ink.  Then, stamping the stems with the same ink and coloring them with Stampin' Blends.  Finally, the water was added by stamping the reverse side of the small jar with Pool Party ink - stamped off once.  

I hope this week of Jar of Flowers cards has shown you how versatile this set is.  It is especially a great set if you like to color and don't mind a little fussy cutting.  (Fussy cutting isn't required, at all, but I REALLY like how it looks!)  My cards are all pretty bright, because bright colors are my favorite.  However, another great thing about this set is that you can color it with ANY color combination you choose!

Stampin' Up! Jar of Flowers with Tea Boutique Cards & Envelopes

 

Hi there!  Jar of Flowers is my Stamp Set of the Week this week, so today's card features that lovely set and also includes Go to Greetings stamps.  

Using the beautiful Tea Boutique Cards & Envelopes almost makes me feel like I'm cheating a little!  They are so pretty I don't have to do much to make a beautiful card and the envelopes are already decorated perfectly! 

All of the 2022-2024 In Colors (Stampin' Blends) were used to color the flowers on this card, making sure it's super bright and lovely...and matches the Tea Boutique Card Base!  A touch of Tahitian Tide was added to the jar with a Blending Brush. Then the sentiment was Heat Embossed with White Embossing Powder on Basic Black Cardstock - the perfect addition to almost any card.

Stampin' Up! Jar of Flowers ~ Ink and Inspiration Blog Hop

Hey Stampers & Friends!  Welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop.  I'm excited to be part of this fun and creative group sharing with you today!

Blue, blue skies are my favorite, so of course I love this photo that was the inspiration for this blog hop.  While I love the blue sky in this photo, it didn't quite get those creative juices flowing.  Thankfully there's additional color inspiration with this photo, and that did the trick!

I love how bright and happy these colors are!  They are perfect with my stamp set of the week, Jar of Flowers.  I especially love how Parakeet Party pops next to Starry Sky.   

Previously this week (on my blog) I mentioned that I will be sharing a different way to add the jar stamp with each card I share this week.  This one is probably the easiest. I just stamped the small jar on a scrap of Basic White Cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  I then colored it with a Tahitian Tide Stampin' Blend and fussy cut around it.

Stampin' Up! Jar of Flowers ~ Sunflower Friend

 

Hi friend!  Today's card is bright and cheerful with Jar of Flowers stamps and the coordinating Jar Punch.  I love this happy color combination, even though these aren't all colors I typically gravitate to.  (Some are, but others not so much - okay, it's just the Soft Suede I don't usually use often.)

I'm using this stamp set all week, and plan to share different ways to stamp/color the jar.  In fact, I think the jar is slightly different in every card this week!  For this card, I stamped the flower stems on a scrap of Basic White Cardstock with Memento Ink and colored them with Soft Succulent Blends.  Then I punched them out with the jar punch.  Next, I stamped the large jar on a piece of Vellum Cardstock with Pool Party ink.  After punching this second jar out, I used Liquid Glue and a Sponge Dauber to glue the vellum jar to the white jar.

The Linen Thread was wrapped around the top of the jar three times before tying in a bow.  Then everything was assembled with Liquid Glue and Stampin' Dimensionals.  

Since Jar of Flowers doesn't include any sentiments, it's perfect to use with any all sentiment stamp set.  In this case, I paired it with Peaceful Moments stamps.

Stampin' Up! Jar of Flowers ~ Card From the Catalog

This card, featuring Jar of Flowers by Stampin' Up!, was inspired by the left card on p. 14 of the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog.  The basic layout for this card and the color scheme were inspired by the card from the catalog.  However, I didn't have any of the dies or stamps that the original used, so I changed up the stamps, dies and added an embossing folder!

One of the things I love about this card is the jar!  I used two layers for the jar: a scrap of a Window Sheet and a scrap of Basic White Cardstock.  After stamping and coloring, the two jar layers were adhered with 2 Glue Dots.  

I mentioned last week that I'm loving cards with lots of white and pops of bright color.  This one surely fits that description!  I hope you like it as much as I do!

Stampin' Up Shaded Summer ~ Sketch Saturday

 

Do you love sketch challenges?  I do!  Sketch challenges help me to create when I'm stuck and they also help me to create things I wouldn't normally think of.  This card☝was inspired by Sketch Saturday's Sketch 703. 👇 We would love for you to play along on the Sketch Saturday Blog and share your creation, based on on this sketch, with us! 

This sketch is a fantastic way to use up scraps of paper you have stashed away in your craft room. For this card, I used scraps of 2022-2024 In Color Designer Series Paper.  

The half circle felt too white, so I used a Blending Brush to add a touch of Tahitian Tide ink to it.  The flowers were colored with Stampin' Write Markers before stamping so I could get two colors on it.  (TIP: when coloring directly on stamps, ONLY use MARKERS and always start with the lighter color first)

Stampin' Up! Shaded Summer ~ Casually Crafting Blog Hop

Hey there!  Thanks for stopping by!  Today I'm taking part in a blog hop with the Casually Crafting Design Team!  We are an international group of Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who want to share our take on casual crafting.  We will share what we love with you monthly.  Be sure to check out the rests of the design team's projects using the links at the bottom of this post.

This month we are doing a tic tac toe challenge.  Have you seen these before?  Pick a row, in any direction, and use those three prompts somewhere on your card.  I chose the third row going down ~ twine, happy and green.   

I've been using Shaded Summer stamps all week, so continued with that stamp set for this challenge, also!  For the green in my card, I chose to use a Parakeet Party piece of Awash in Beauty DSP for my background, plus Pear Pizzazz for the stems and leaves on my flower.  The Gray Granite twine is from Baker's Twine Essentials Pack. Of course, I used the 'happy birthday' stamp for the 'happy' part of my card!

I say it a lot with this stamp set, because it's so true ~ I love coloring directly on this floral stamp with my Stampin' Write Markers before stamping.  For this card, I used Rich Razzleberry for the flowers.

To get the banner shape, I measured up 3/4" from the bottom of the Basic White Cardstock, then found the middle (horizontally ~ 3/8") and made a tiny pencil mark.  I then used the Paper Trimmer to cut from each corner to the pencil mark.

Card Base ~ Rich Razzleberry Cardstock ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 4-1/4"

Layer 1 ~ Awash in Beauty DSP ~ 4" x 5-1/2"

Layer 2 ~ Basic White Cardstock ~ 2-3/4" x 4-1/4"

Stampin' Up! Shaded Summer ~ Friendship Card

 

Hey stampers!  Today I'm sharing with you another card that shows off a little of what you can do with Shaded Summer (my Stamp Set of the Week) and Summer Shadows Dies.  

The silver striped paper in the background is from the upcoming Sale-a-bration Brochure.  It's a 6"x6" pack of DSP that includes 24 sheets (6 each of 4 designs).  You can choose this Silver & Gold DSP as your FREE SAB item with a $50 purchase during July/August 2022.  

This card is mostly die cutting and layering the pieces with just a bit of heat embossing.  I love watching the embossing powder change as it's heating up!  

Random Thought ~ I think of baseball every time I look at this card on my desk.  Maybe that has something to do with the Texas Rangers?  I'm not a fan of baseball (I'm not NOT a fan, either) but I know several people who are BIG fans of baseball and the Rangers.  I think the color scheme is what is making me think of them.  Does it make you think of baseball?

Stampin' Up! Shaded Summer ~ Birthday Card

Confession Time ~ lots of white space on a card used to really bother me...NO IDEA why!  Now I love cards that have lots of blank space with pops of color.   

Today's card, featuring my stamp set of the week, Shaded Summer, uses the same basic idea as yesterday's card. This time I stamped the smaller floral stamp along the bottom of a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White Cardstock with Soft Sea Foam ink.  I then stamped the same stamp on several scraps of Basic White Cardstock using Melon Mambo ink.  The Melon Mambo flowers were then fussy cut and adhered over the Soft Sea Foam flowers with Liquid Glue.
