Stampin' Up! Bragworthy ~ Card From the Catalog

 

This week's Card From the Catalog can be found on p. 55 of the 2022 January - June Mini Catalog.  It features Stampin' Up!'s Bragworthy stamp set, which is an all sentiment set.  These stamps all have great sentiments that are totally bragworthy!  I love that the fonts used are easy to read and great for heat embossing.  

The original card uses some DSP that has already retired, so I decided to change up the color scheme and use all the new 2022-2024 In Color Designer Series Paper.  Starry Sky is the solid card base color while the rest of the colors are represented in the DSP used for the clouds. 

I also used the new In Color Baker's Twine, since the twine used in the catalog has also retired.  The Iridescent Rhinestones are still available, but after talking about it with my youngest daughter, I decided to use the Basic Rhinestones.

Stampin' Up! Glad We're Friends ~ Sketch Saturday

Hello & Welcome!  I've been playing with my Glad We're Friends stamps set by Stampin' Up! all week now and have made some cute cards with this set!  For my final card of the week, I was inspired by this fabulous sketch from Sketch Saturday.  

I decided to change the shapes a bit, since the guinea pigs are a perfect size to replace the stars.  Plus, the little corgi fit better in the hexagon than my circle dies...for this card anyway.  This is a quick card to make, even with fussy cutting the guinea pigs.  They are small, so it really doesn't take much time. 

All stamping was done on Basic White Cardstock, then the images were colored with Stampin' Blends.  I also used my Light Pool Party Stampin' Blend to color the background around the dog. 

Inside the card I simply added a scrap of the DSP I had left over and a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White Cardstock.  Such a simple way to dress up the inside of my card and use up some of my leftover DSP pieces.

Stampin' Up! Glad We're Friends ~ Casually Crafting Blog Hop

 

Hey there!  Thanks for stopping by!  Today I'm taking part in a blog hop with the Casually Crafting Design Team!  We are an international group of Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who want to share our take on casual crafting.  We will share what we love with you monthly.  Be sure to check out the rests of the design team's projects using the links at the bottom of this post.

This month we are doing a Color Challenge, featuring the new 2022-2024 In Colors.  These colors are so bright, beautiful and tropical.  I'm loving creating with all of them!

I have been playing with my new Glad We're Friends stamp set this week, and thought I would continue with it for today's card.  The fun colors really make this card pop!  Since there is really very little stamping and coloring, this card is fast and easy to make! 

I love that we have so many coordinating In Color products.  On this card I used the cardstock, Baker's Twine and Stampin' Write Markers.  I may try this one again using the In Color Glimmer Paper instead of cardstock and (or) the 2022-2024 In Color Matte Dots.

Stampin' Up! Glad We're Friends with Picture This Dies

 

I'm having a blast playing with Glad We're Friends this week.  It's a new stamp set from Stampin' Up! and tons of fun for animal lovers.  I love these sweet critter faces and don't know about things at your house, but my cat is definitely a princess in our house!  (My oldest daughter's cat is the queen bee!)

These sentiments are great, too.  Mixing bold, large words with smaller not bold words makes for the perfect opportunity to do some masking and stamp the sentiments in different colors, or even different places.  On this card, I stamped part of the 'Growing older...' sentiment on the front and the other part inside the card.  I also chose to use two different colors for the sentiment on the front of the card.  

The circle die from Picture This Dies is perfect for framing stamped images and Designer Series Paper.  This isn't a super quick and easy card to make, but it isn't too long, or difficult.  It's really not bad if you have a Stamparatus handy!

Stampin' Up! Glad We're Friends ~ Card from the Catalog

 

Once a week I like to share a Card From the Catalog with you.  Stampin' Up!'s publications, like their annual & mini catalogs, are fantastic resources for card making ideas and inspiration.  This week's Card from the Catalog can be found on p. 51 of the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. 

Sometimes I change quite a bit when I CASE (Copy And Share Everything) these cards.  Then other times I change a little and still others I don't change anything at all.  This week, the only thing that was changed is the color scheme.  (At the end of my YouTube tutorial, linked near the end of this post, I share an extra card with yet another color combo.)

Watercolor Pencils were used to color the images for this card.  I did go over my coloring with a Blender Pen, to smooth it out a bit.  Images like the ones found in this Glad We're Friends stamp set are great for coloring with Watercolor Pencils or Stampin' Blends.  Do you have another way you like to color them? 

I love this 'Blown Away By You!' sentiment, and feel like it would be perfect for a thank you or congratulations card.  Of course, it's also great just to let a friend know you're glad they're in your life!

As part of our training, Kylie & Bruno challenge us each month to create thank you cards for our customers and team members.  This is one of my favorite things about their training.  Mostly because I think it is incredibly important to say thank you, especially to our customers & team members.  But also because I love being inspired by all the other creative demonstrators in this blog hop! 

My customer thank you card this month features Stampin' Up!'s Glad We're Friends stamp set.  This adorable set is a new one in the new 2022-2023 Annual Catalog.  I'm a sucker for the critter stamps, and this one is no exception!  With this set you get three great images and several sentiments.

One of my favorite stamps for thank you cards is this 'thanks' from Biggest Wish.  I find myself using it over and over with tons of different stamp sets and Designer Series Paper.  It's probably one of my top three most used stamps.  

This card is pretty simple and straightforward, but is still stepped up a notch with the added touches of sparkle!  First, I used Wink of Stella on the crown, after coloring with the Light Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blend.  This gives it just a hint of shimmer, even though you can't see it in the photo.  Then, I finished off the card with a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Isn't this little guy perfect for the inside of a card?  He's just the right size to add in the corner.  In this card, the little guinea pig is colored with the Light Pumpkin Pie Blend, just like the cat on the front.  I did go over parts of the guinea pig a couple of times, to make those places just a little darker.

Stampin' Up! Best Delivery Birthday Card

 

In my last blog post I mentioned how great Stampin' Up!'s Best Delivery stamp is for little boy birthday cards.  Every little boy I know (and a lot of the big ones) love trucks of all kinds.  There's so much you can do with this one, especially with the nice big empty side of the truck!

This card is a little time consuming due to fussy cutting and coloring.  I love cards like this when I have time ~ I find it enjoyable and relaxing.  If I was short on time, I would look for ways to make it quicker, like using 2022-2024 In Color Designer Series Paper for the background, skipping the blended layer and just stamping the truck and balloons on the larger piece of Basic White CS.

Stampin' Up! Best Delivery ~ Card from the Catalog

This week's Card From the Catalog can be found on p. 53 of Stampin' Up!'s 2022 January - June Mini Catalog.  It features Best Delivery, a stamp set perfect for moving, whether to a college dorm, across the street, across the country or across an ocean!  It's also great for little boy birthday cards!

I love shaker cards, so couldn't miss this chance to make the one from the catalog.  I love that the truck is cut to make the window to show what is inside.  So fun! It's easy to do, just punch a hole through the center with your Paper Snips, or other small and sharp scissors. Once you have your beginning, fussy cut around the inside of the truck bed instead of the outside. 

I've been using Sparkle & Shine Sequins for all of my shaker cards recently, because that's all I have handy to add to them.  Stampin' Up! has many other options for shakin' it up.  Of course, they are all on my personal wish list!

Stampin' Up! Hues of Happiness ~ friend

I played with the Hues of Happiness Suite all week, and I have to say I love it every bit as much as I thought I would!  I don't think it would be possible to create a bad card with these gorgeous elements!

The card I'm ending my week on is a classic layout that is great for a new or casual stamper.  I love the added element of the die on the background piece of Coastal Cabana Cardstock.  However, if you don't have the dies/Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine this card will still be perfectly lovely without that part.  

It's time to put the Happiness Abounds Bundle up for a brief time while I focus on another stamp set or bundle.  I expect to be using the other parts of this fantastic suite with many other stamps! (I may even pull the stamps out now & again before I work my way back to it...just because the sentiments are so lovely!  Love those fonts.)

Stampin' Up! Hues of Happiness ~ thanks

So, if you have been following my blog this week, you might remember that early in the week I said I didn't want to cut up my beautiful Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper to cut the flowers out.  Well, I gave in and used the coordinating dies to cut out a couple of flowers and a few leaves.  I have to say I'm very happy with the result.  What do you think?  

Using the dies to quickly cut out the flowers and leaves saved me enough time to play around with some other techniques with this card.  I used the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder to emboss the background panel.  Plus, after using the 4th largest Stitched Rectangle Die to cut out a piece of Flirty Flamingo Cardstock, I added Mango Melody ink to it with a Blending Brush, giving it something of an ombre effect.  Then, using a Water Painter, I added a few drops of water the piece, giving it a 'rained' on effect!  

I had so much fun creating this card!  Now I'm not sure why I was so hesitant to use the dies to cut out elements of this DSP.  Just kidding...yes, I do!  It's because the paper is so gorgeous I had a hard time getting started cutting it.  It wasn't so painful once I got started!  PLUS, we are early in the Stampin' Up! Catalog year, so I know I have PLENTY of time to purchase more of this DSP if I run out! ;)

Stampin' Up! Hues of Happiness DSP ~ New Catalog Blog Hop

 

Hello and welcome to my blog!  Today I'm joining the Crafty Collaborations New Catalog Blog Hop!  We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world who love to create, then share and hopefully inspire others to create!

Do you have the new Annual Catalog that just launched this week?  There's lots of new products in it and we have been playing with quite a few already!  (One of the perks of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is the opportunity to purchase products early)  

My favorite suite in the new catalog is the Hues of Happiness Suite, I've been creating with it all week and I have to say I just keep loving it more!  The Hues of Happiness DSP is SO beautiful it makes creating cards like this one quick and easy!  

The background DSP on this card is perfect for embossing with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.  It's beautiful without it, but perfectly stepped up with it!

Don't like to fussy cut?  No worries, you can use the largest circle, or one of the hexagons from Beautiful Shapes Dies to cut out the sentiment and have plenty of room ~ no fussy cutting required.
