Hey there! Thanks for stopping by! Today I'm taking part in a blog hop with the Casually Crafting Design Team! We are an international group of Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who want to share our take on casual crafting. We will share what we love with you monthly. Be sure to check out the rests of the design team's projects using the links at the bottom of this post.
Our challenge this month was to create a card using the sketch below. I got a little carried away with this first card AND between my desk and my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine I even forgot the orientation of the card! I'm a mess this week. lol So, I decided to quickly, very quickly, create a 2nd, simpler card with this sketch. It's at towards the end of this post. I actually like the 2nd one better. Let me know what you think!
On the first card, I played with the Gilded Leafing a little bit. I haven't used this much, and think I might have gotten a little carried away! I started by just adding the bit to the sentiment, then I decided to add some to the inside of the card. The envelope couldn't be naked, so I added more gold to it! :) To add strips of Gilded Leafing to your projects like this, just add a strip of Tear & Tape where you want the leafing to go. TIP: cut the Tear & Tape, don't try to tear it when using it with the leafing. That's how you get the straight edges. Mush the Gilded Leafing into the adhesive, then use a paintbrush to brush of the excess. I recommend doing all of this in a large container, like a plastic shoebox.
This second card, featuring Stampin' Up!'s Amazing Silhouettes stamp set is more my style. Plus, it's super quick! Yes, I did fussy cut around the main image, but you don't have to if that's not your thing. Just stamp the image on a piece of 2-1/4" x 4-1/8" piece of Basic White Cardstock and attach that to your card. Aren't those Brushed Brass Butterflies perfect? They are my favorite thing in the new mini catalog!
Thank you for visiting my blog! Don't forget to swing by the other blogs in this hop to see the creativeness of my fellow team members!
Happy Stamping!

DeleteLovely cards, I just got Amazing Silhouettes and hadn’t thought to fussy cut around the coloured part
ReplyDeleteThank you Katie. I've been fussy cutting so much lately I was halfway finished before I realized I could have saved myself time and just left it as a rectangle! LOL
