I made this card during my Facebook Live today. I was mostly demonstrating how to use Stampin' Up!'s stamps and talking about the different types and how to clean them. While I was at it, I couldn't resist making a simple birthday card with the Penguin Place stamps. Isn't this penguin adorable!? I love that we can make simple cards without needing tons of special supplies. Although, the special supplies ARE fun! :)
MEASUREMENTS
Card Base ~ Pacific Point Cardstock ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 4-1/4"
Layer 1 ~ Melon Mambo Cardstock ~ 4" x 5-1/4"
Layer 2 ~ Basic White Cardstock ~ 3-3/4" x 5"
Inside Layer ~ Basic White Cardstock ~ 4" x 5-1/4"
- Stamp the penguin near the bottom of Layer 2, towards the center, with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
- After getting an idea of how much 'string' you need, only ink up that portion of the 'string' stamp with Pacific Point ink, then stamp the balloon string
- Stamp the balloon in the top right corner of Layer 2 with Pacific Point Ink
- Use Mango Melody Ink to stamp the penguin's feet and beak
- Stamp the bow and heart with Melon Mambo ink
- Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp 'Happy Birthday' inside the balloon
- Adhere Layer 1 to the Card Base. Then, adhere Layer 2 to Layer 1
Stamp the sentiments on the Inside Layer with Pacific Point Ink. Using the Stamparatus to line them up makes it easier, but is not necessary. Adhere the Inside Layer to the inside of your card.
