Stampin' Up! Sailing Home - Masculine Card

 

For today's Masculine Monday card I grabbed Stampin' Up!'s Sailing Home stamp set and In Good Taste Designer Series Paper for my starting point.  I love using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder with this stamp set.  Add a little bit of blue to the embossed image, along with some layers, to make it reminiscent of waves.

MEASUREMENTS

Early Espresso Card Base ~ 4-1/4" x 10-1/4", score at 5-1/2"

In Good Taste Designer Series Paper ~ 4-1/4" x 4-3/4"

Basic White Cardstock ~ 1-1/4" x 5-1/4"

Gray Granite Cardstock ~ scrap

Early Espresso Cardstock ~ scrap

Night of Navy Cardstock ~ 1/2" x 2-3/4"

Very Vanilla Cardstock ~ 4" x 4-1/2" (inside)

• Adhere the DSP to the front of the card base
• Place the strip of Basic White CS in the Painted Embossing Folder and run through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.
• Use a Blending Brush to add a light layer of Night of Navy ink to the embossed Basic White CS
• Adhere the embossed CS to the front of the card with your favorite adhesive.
• Cut the ends of a 3-1/2" piece of Smoky Slate Textured Ribbon, as shown. (To do this easily, fold the end of the ribbon in half and cut at a slant)
• Attach the ribbon, using Glue Dots, to the center of the embossed CS on the card front. 
• Use Early Espresso to stamp the compass on the scrap of Gray Granite CS.
• Use Layering Dies to cut out a scalloped Early Espresso circle.  Then, cut out compass with the smaller, smooth circle.  Glue the compass to the Early Espresso circle layer.
• Use Stampin' Dimensionals to attach the compass to the center of the ribbon on the card front
• Stamp the sentiment with Versamark on the Night of Navy CS.  Cover with Copper Embossing Powder, then tap of the excess.  Set with the Heat Tool.
• Attach a Stampin' Dimensional to each end of the sentiment strip, and a bit of glue in the center.  Then, attach to the ribbon and compass on the front of the card. 
• Wrap Gray Granite Twine around the bottom of the card, as shown, 3 times.  Then, tie the ends around all 3strands of twine. 

Since space to write is already limited on the inside, I simply attached a piece of Very Vanilla CS to the inside of the card.
