Stampin' Up!'s Joyful Life stamp set is full of adorable characters. Something about these guys makes me think of the children's Frog and Toad books. I loved those books as a kid, so I can easily imagine these guys having great fun and great friendships. (Even though there's not a frog or toad in this set, lol)
Today's card was inspired by this challenge at Sugar Pea Designs. I attempted to combine the sketch and the photograph by adding lines of stamped leaves on the Cajun Craze Cardstock. (Handy that this stamp set included small leaves I could do that with)
MEASUREMENTS
Early Expresso Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 4-1/4"
Cajun Craze Cardstock ~ 3-1/2" x 4-3/4"
Gray Granite Cardstock ~ 2-1/2" x 2-1/2"
Cherry Cobbler Cardstock ~ 1/2" x 1-1/2"
Very Vanilla Cardstock ~ 4" x 5-1/4"
- Stamp the hedgehog on Gray Granite CS using Tuxedo Black Ink. Use Blender Pens to color the hedgehog.
- Use Cajun Craze ink to stamp the leaves in two lines down the Cajun Craze CS
- Stamp 'For You' in Tuxedo Black ink on the Cherry Cobbler CS. Use Paper Snips to trim around the words, as shown.
- Use Scalloped Contours Dies to cut out the Cajun Craze CS
- Use Layering Circles Dies to cut out the hedgehog. Then, cut off the left side of the circle with a Paper Trimmer.
- Layer the pieces as shown, using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to attach 'for you' and your favorite adhesive for everything else.
- For the inside of the card, attach a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla CS. I also stamped 'A little something for a great person' to the inside.
