Stampin' Up! Gorgeous Leaves & Best Year

The new Gorgeous Leaves stamp set by Stampin' Up! is perfect for stamping simply or stepping it up a little (or a lot!).  There's not any sentiments in this set, so pairing it with a stamp set like Best Year is ideal.  When you get the Gorgeous Leaves Bundle, you will also get the Intricate Leaves Dies (gorgeous!). Of course, you can purchase just the stamps or just the dies.  (there is a 10% discount if you purchase the bundle)

After making the simple Thank You Card, I decided to step it up a little.  I really wanted some small copper leaves to add as embellishments.  I don't have any Copper Foil Sheets right now, so I decided to try making my own!  Here's how...

Rub Versamark directly on a scrap of cardstock, cover it with the Copper Embossing Powder, Heat Set, then use the small leaf dies to cut out some great embellishments for your project!  Here's a closeup of how that turned out...

MEASUREMENTS

Night of Navy CARD BASE ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 4-1/4"

Merry Merlot Cardstock ~ 4" x 5-1/4"

Crumb Cake Cardstock ~ 3-3/4" x 5"

Scrap of Copper Foil Sheet or Old Olive, if you are going to try the technique above

Basic White Cardstock ~ 4" x 5-1/4" (this is for the inside) or use Crumb Cake CS

• Stamp the leaf in Old Olive, Merry Merlot and Night of Navy on Crumb Cake CS (be sure to clean your stamp between each color)
• Stamp the small splatter over each leaf, using Versamark.  Cover with Copper Embossing Powder and tap off the excess powder.  Set with the Heat Tool.
• Cut out your copper leaves, using three of the smallest leaf dies
• Attach the Crumb Cake CS tot he Merry Merlot CS
• Thread a piece of Linen Thread through the copper leaves, then secure behind the Merry Merlot CS with Glue Dots (I did not glue down the leaves, but you can if you want)
• Stamp the sentiment below the leaves, using Night of Navy ink
• Use Stampin' Dimensionals to attach the Merry Merlot to the front of the Night of Navy Card Base

For the inside of the card, stamp your sentiment using Night of Navy ink.  Then you can add another copper leaf in the lower corner. 

OR

You can stamp Old Olive small leaves around the sentiment.
