Stampin' Up! Whimsical Trees Christmas Card

The Whimsical Trees Bundle from the Mini Catalog is beautiful, especially when used with Be Dazzling Specialty Paper (from Sale-a-bration)!!  Stampin' Up! almost always (maybe always?) has great tree themed stamp sets, but this one is definitely my favorite.  Especially since the coordinating Christmas Trees Dies are equally wonderful!

MEASUREMENTS

Just Jade Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/4", score at 4-1/4"

Basic White Cardstock ~ 5-1/4" x 4" (*2) and 1 scrap at least 1" x 4-1/2"

Cinnamon Cider Cardstock ~ 2-1/4" x 4-1/4"

Misty Moonlight Cardstock ~ 2-1/4" x 5-1/4"

Be Dazzling Specialty Paper ~ 3/4" x 4-1/4" and 2-1/4" x 5-1/4"

1. Use a Blending Brush to blend Just Jade ink onto one of the 4" pieces of Basic White CS.  Make the ink layer darker at the top and lighter at the bottom, for an 'ombre' look. 
2. Use the Just Jade ink to stamp the tree on Just Jade CS.  Then, stamp 'happiest holidays' on the strip of Basic White CS.
3. Stamp the 'snow' tree, using Versamark, on the Just Jade tree.  Sprinkle with White Embossing Powder, and tap off the excess powder.  Use the Heat Tool to set (melt) the embossing powder. 
4. Place the Basic White CS from Step 1 in the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder and run through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
5. Cut a Misty Moonlight tree with the tall skinny tree die from Christmas Trees Dies.  
6. Then, use the 'garland' die to cut a garland from the  Be Dazzling Specialty Paper.  
7. Glue the garland to the the front of the Misty Moonlight tree. 
8. Use the coordinating tree die to cut the stamped and embossed Just Jade tree. 
9. With the Detailed Trio punch, punch the corners of the Cinnamon Cider CS to create curved corners. 
10. Fussy cut around 'happiest holidays' with Paper Snips (or other sharp pointy scissors)
11. Time to attach the layers!  First, adhere the 'ombre' layer to the front of the card. 
12. Attach the Misty Moonlight tree (with garland) to the Cinnamon Cider piece.  Then, use Stampin' Dimensionals to attach the smaller Just Jade tree.  (as shown in the pictures)
13. Adhere the Cinnamon Cider piece (with trees) to the front of the card.  Be sure to leave enough room on the right for a Stampin' Dimensional. 
14. Glue 'happiest holidays' to the strip of Be Dazzling Paper.  Use two Stampin' Dimensionals on the left of the Be Dazzling strip and one on the right to attach it to the front of the card, as shown. 

For the inside of the card, stamp the sentiment from Whimsical Trees in the top center of the Basic White CS.  Then, add a small tree to the lower right corner.  Adhere this piece to the inside of the card.

Stampin' Up! Peaceful Moments Birthday Card

 

The Peaceful Moments stamp set is another sentiment set that can be added to almost any other Stampin' Up! product(s) for a great card!  I love that the 'Happy Birthday' stamp in this set fits so perfectly in the Double Oval Punch. 

This card was inspired by As You See It's Challenge #257.  This is a great challenge, perfect for this time of year!  

  

MEASUREMENTS

Crumb Cake Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 4-1/4"

Crumb Cake Layer ~ 4" x 5-1/4"

Basic White ~ 4" x 5-1/4" (inside), scrap for sentiment

Just Jade ~ scrap at least 1-1/4" 2-1/4" 

Bumblebee~ 4" x 3"

• Use the Checks Embossing Folder to emboss the right side of the Crumb Cake Layer (it helps to line the bottom of the cardstock up with the line on the embossing folder)
• Cut out 2 of each of the "wheat/grass" pieces from Sunflowers Dies
• Use Glue Dots to attach the ends of the Gingham Ribbon behind the Crumb Cake Layer
• Attach the Crumb Cake Layer to the Card Base with Stampin' Dimensionals
• Stamp 'Happy Birthday', using Just Jade ink, on the scrap of Basic White CS.  Then, punch out with the Double Oval Punch.  Use the same punch to punch a scalloped oval in Just Jade CS.  Glue the smooth oval to the scalloped oval. 
• Turn the ovals upside down, and add 3 Stampin' Dimensionals, as shown below. 

• Place 3 of the 'wheat/grass' pieces as you want them on the Stampin' Dimensionals (after removing the dimensional backings).  
• Add a touch of glue to the back of the 'wheat/grass' pieces.  Then, attach to the front of the card, over the ribbon. 
• Tie a small bow with Linen Thread.  Then, ball up 1/2 of a glue dot and use it to attach the ribbon just under the sentiment. 

For the inside of the card, glue the Basic White inside layer to the inside of the card.  Finish by gluing the final piece of 'wheat/grass' to the lower corner, as shown.

Stampin' Up! In Your Words Birthday Card

A good sentiment set, like Stampin' Up!'s In Your Words, and beautiful Designer Series Paper, like Pansy Petals DSP, are almost all you really need to create a gorgeous card like this one.  The layout for this card was totally inspired by Sketch Saturday's Challenge 675.  Be sure to check out their blog for tons of other great sketches!

MEASUREMENTS

Pale Papaya Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 4-1/4"

Pansy Petals DSP ~ 4-1/8" x 5-3/8"

Basic White Cardstock ~ 2-1/4" x 1-1/4", 4" x 5-1/4"

Polished Pink Cardstock ~ 2-3/8" x 1-3/8"

Fresh Freesia Cardstock ~ 1" x 1-3/4" (will be cut shorter)

Pale Papaya Cardstock ~ 3/4" x 1-1/2" (will be cut shorter)

• Use Polished Pink ink to stamp the sentiments on the Basic White CS, as shown in the pictures (above and below)
• Cut one end of the Fresh Freesia CS on a slant.  Repeat with the small piece of Pale Papaya CS. 
• Glue the Fresh Freesia to front of the card, so that the sides look slanted and the top straight (as shown in the picture above).  The bottom of the Fresh Freesia CS should be hanging off the end of the DSP. 
• Repeat the above step with the small Pale Papaya CS.  Then, cut off the ends that are hanging off the DSP.  
• Cut one end of a 3-1/2" piece of Pale Papaya ribbon by folding the end in half, then cutting on a slant. (This will make a 'banner' end as shown in the above picture)
• Attach the DSP to the card front with your favorite adhesive (I used Liquid Glue). 
• Use Tear & Tape to attach the ribbon to the DSP. 
• Glue the stamped sentiment to the small piece of Polished Pink CS.  Then, use Stampin' Dimensionals to attach that to the card front, over the ribbon. 
• Use Glue Dots to attach the small flowers to the Fresh Freesia and Pale Papaya CS on the bottom.

Glue the 4" Basic White CS to the inside of the card.  Fussy cut around one of the flowers from the DSP and glue in the corner, as shown.

Stampin' Up! Textures & Frames - Card from the Catalog

Stampin' Up!'s Textures & Frames stamp set is an amazing set for background images and fun geometric designs.  I love that each of the images in this set looks like it was painted on.  This card from the Sale-a-bration brochure is a great example of how this set can be used with other sets to create fun, artistic cards.  

MEASUREMENTS

Thick Basic White Cardstock ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 4-1/4"

Basic White Cardstock ~ 3-1/2" x 4-3/4"

Basic Black Cardstock ~ approx. 2-1/2" x 3/4" (this will be cut down)

Scraps of a Gold Foil Sheet and Vellum Cardstock

• Begin by stamping the 'brushed on' stamp down the center of the piece of Basic White CS.  Start at the top and move to the bottom, being sure to thoroughly clean your stamp each time.
• Use a strip of paper, or Post It note to cover the stamped images down the middle.  Then, use a Water Painter and black ink to splatter paint around the edges of the Basic White CS
• Stamp the Christmas Tree on Vellum CS, using Versamark ink.  Cover with Gold Embossing Powder.  Tap off the excess, then set with the Heat Tool.  Repeat this step two more times. 
• Stamp 'let your heart be light' with Versamark on Basic Black CS.  Cover with White Embossing Powder.  Tap off the excess, then set with the Heat Tool.  
• Use the messages die to cut out the sentiment.  When  you are placing the die, make sure it is close to the left side before cutting. Use Paper Snips to trim the right edge, if needed, after die cutting. 
• Use the small tree die from Whimsical Trees to cut out the three embossed trees.  Then, use the  small stars die to cut out the Gold stars for the trees. 
• Apply a thin layer of Liquid Glue to the back of the Vellum trees and attach to the Basic White CS, as shown.  Then, add the stars to the tops of the trees. 
• Use Stampin' Dimensionals to attach the Basic White CS to the front of the card.  
• Finish by attaching the embossed sentiment with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stampin' Up! Back on Your Feet

 

Stampin' Up!'s Back on Your Feet stamp set is perfect for quick Clean and Simple cards.  It is also just right for these unusually stressful times we are living in.  CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge 434 was seemingly made for this stamp set.  

MEASUREMENTS

Pacific Point Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 4-1/4"

Basic White Cardstock ~ 4" x 5-1/4" (*2), approx. 2" x 3"

• Stamp the sloth, using Soft Suede ink, on the smallest piece of Basic White CS.  Color using Stampin' Blends.  Then, fussy cut around him. 
• Stamp 'sigh' with Pacific Point ink repeatedly along one side of a 4" piece of Basic White CS.  If desired, start dark and fade lighter. 
• Glue the Basic White CS to the front of the card base.  
• Attach the sloth with Stampin' Dimensionals to the the front of the card. 

On the second 4" piece of Basic White CS stamp the sentiment using Soft Suede ink.  Then, glue that piece to the inside of the card.

Stampin' Up! Birthday Chick

 

Today I was thinking about the fact that I haven't used the 2020-2022 In Colors much recently and that I really like them and wanted to use them.  Then, I saw this fun sketch challenge from Try Stamping On Tuesday.  Isn't it perfect to create with all five of these colors!  Plus, it was really fun, and easy, to make!

MEASUREMENTS

 Magenta Madness Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 4-1/4"

Basic White Cardstock ~ 4" x 5-1/4" (*2)

• With your stamp pads close, squeeze them to get a bit of ink in each of the lids.  Then, one at a time, open them and dip your Water Painter tip into the ink on the lid.  Squeeze a bit of water down to the tip, then tap the Water Painter over the Basic White Cardstock to splatter ink onto it.  Reink as necessary. 
• Clean your Water Painter, then reink and repeat with each of the colors.  (be sure to clean between each color change)
• Once you are happy with the amount of color you have splattered onto your card, cut out 'Happy Birthday' using the die from the Birthday Chick Dies.  
• Use Liquid Glue to attach the layers to your card, as shown. 

For the inside of the card, I covered most of the other piece of Basic White CS with a 4"x6" Post It Note.  Then, I repeated the splattering process.  I finished by gluing the White CS inside the card.

Stampin' Up! Delivering Cheer Birthday Card

 

Have you given the Delivering Cheer a good look yet!?  At first glance, this looks like a limited opportunity set.  However, give it another look and you might realize there's lots of potential here!  I have seen it used in so many great ways.  The card I'm sharing with you today is the one I created for my daughter's birthday this year.

The Designer Series Paper in the background and on her skirt is part of Beautifully Penned DSP, which is a FREE set (with qualifying purchase) during Sale-a-bration.  This paper is all black and white, which means it goes with just about anything and is the perfect paper for coloring with Stampin' Blends!

MEASUREMENTS

Thick Basic White Cardstock Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 4-1/4"

Beautifully Penned Designer Series Paper ~ 4-1/4" x 5-1/2", 1-1/2" x 2"

Basic Black Cardstock ~ 3-3/8" x 4-5/8"

Basic White Cardstock ~ 3-1/4" x 4-1/2"

• Stamp the skirt and legs on the Basic White CS with Memento Black ink.  Stamp the top next.  This is photopolymer, so it's clear and pretty easy to line up.  (The Stamparatus makes it even easier!)
• Stamp the skirt on the smaller piece of Beautifully Penned DSP.  Use Paper Snips to fussy cut around the skirt.  If desired, go around the edges with a Stampin' Write Marker. 
• Color the gift boxes with Stampin' Blends.  Then, color the DSP background. 
• Use your favorite adhesive (I used Liquid Glue) to attach the layers, beginning with the DSP on the front of the Card Base and ending with the DSP skirt over the stamped skirt.  
• Tie a small bow with the Real Red ribbon and attach with a Glue Dot. 

For the inside, use the sentiment of your choice. I chose the Happy Birthday from In Your Words, which is the Sale-a-bration Host Set.
