Stampin' Up! Butterfly Brilliance Birthday Card

Hi!  Yay for Saturday!  Are you enjoying your Saturday?  I am.  It's a beautiful sunny day here, which is my favorite!  I'm soaking up all the warm sunshine I can before the temp drops and the clouds return in a few days!

Today's card is simple and sweet.  It uses another new 2021-2023 In Color, Fresh Freesia.

This one was inspired by Sketch Challenge 290 at Global Sketch Challenge.  How do they think of all these great sketches!?

MEASUREMENTS

Fresh Freesia Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"

DSP ~ 4" x 5-1/4"

Basic White ~ 3-3/4" x 3", 4" x 5-1/4" and small scraps

Fresh Freesia ~ 7/16" x 1-3/8"

Here's a tip: When stamping and die cutting the Butterfly Brilliance butterflies, go ahead and stamp/die cut them all.  Then store the ones you don't use in a small envelope or container so they are ready to use when you need them.  I keep mine in an empty Stampin' Dimensional envelope.  

1.  Stamp the butterfly using Memento Tuxedo Black

2.  Stamp the sentiment using Fresh Freesia

3.  Die cut the butterfly using Brilliant Wings dies

3.  Color the butterfly

4.  Trim around the sentiment using Paper Snips

5.  Attach the layers.  I used Stampin' Dimensionals to attach the sentiment

6.  Add a few 2021-2023 In Color Jewels

Did you know you can use Stampin' Up! embellishments, like the jewels, to cover up small stamping boo-boos?  I didn't realize I had a tiny piece of string on my stamp when I stamped the butterfly image.  It left me with a slightly imperfect stamped image.  Instead of starting over, I just covered the imperfection with a jewel.  

For the inside, stamp Happy Birthday and the smallest butterfly, colored to match the card base.
