Stampin' Up! Snailed It Hello Card

 

Hello.  Today's card is another that was inspired by a sketch challenge.  Have you tried to complete a sketch challenge yet?  If not, I recommend that you do!  

Here's Sketch Challenge 417 by CAS Colours & Sketches.

MEASUREMENTS

Soft Sea Foam Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"

Basic White ~ (2) 4" x 5-1/2" and a couple of scraps

1.  Stamp the snail on a scrap of Basic White using Memento Tuxedo Black

2.  Stamp 'hello', then stamp the word bubble around it

3. Use a Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Write Marker to create the 'snail trail' lines going across the first 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White Cardstock

4.  Color in the snail

5.  Go over the 'snail trail' lines with a Wink of Stella Brush

6.  Use the Snail Dies to cut out the snail and word bubble

7.  Attach the layers...I used Stampin' Dimensionals to attach the snail, and Multipurpose Liquid Glue to attach everything else. 

For the inside of the card, stamp the snail on the other 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White Cardstock. 

Use the Soft Sea Foam Marker to draw another 'snail trail' along the bottom.

Color the snail with Stampin' Write Markers.

Go over the 'snail trail' with the Wink of Stella Brush. 

Make sure everything is dry before attaching it to the inside of the card.

Stampin' Up! Swirly Frames Birthday Card

 

Hi there!  Happy Thursday!  Today's card uses some great stamps, but also some fantastic colors!  I love these two colors, but for some reason just don't use them often.  I was flipping through the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog again when I found the inspiration for this card.  Basically, I switched out a stamp set, dies, and changed the colors!

MEASUREMENTS

Highland Heather Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"

Basic White ~ 4-1/8" x 2-3/4" AND 4" x 5-1/4" (inside) and a scrap for the flower

Smoky Slate ~ approx. 4-1/2" x 3-1/4"

1.  Stamp the large rectangle from Swirly Frames in Smoky Slate ink

2.  At the top of the Basic White, leaving room for the Smoky Slate frame, 

stamp the line w/dots in Highland Heather, then stamp again without reinking. 

3. Repeat step 2 on the bottom of the Basic White, again leaving room for the frame

4. Stamp the flower.  I stamped the outline.  Then I stamped off once before stamping the the second part of the stamp. 

5.  Stamp the sentiment in Smoky Slate

6.  Use two Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut out the frame.  

7.  Fussy cut around the flower with Paper Snips.  

(You could use the coordinating dies, but you will get a closer cut if you trim it yourself)

8. Attach the layers with adhesive of your choice.  

I used Stampin' Dimensionals under the rectangles.

9.  Add a fun element to the center of the flower.

Stampin' Up! Hey Chick Birthday Card

Hey!  How are you today?  We are getting lots of rain in our part of Texas right now.  Perfect time for stamping!

Today's card features my favorite stamp set, Hey Chick. 🐔  

MEASUREMENTS

Mint Macaron Card Base ~ 8-12" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"

Basic White ~ (2) 4" x 5-1/4" (one for the front & one for inside)

Mint Macaron ~ 2-1/4" x 3-3/4"

Basic White ~ scraps

Melon Mambo ~ scrap

1.  Stamp 'All Wired Up' using Smoky Slate

2.  Stamp chickens using Memento Tuxedo Black

3.  Stamp sentiments in Melon Mambo

4. Color chickens with Stampin' Write Markers 

(I used Melon Mambo and Mango Melody)

5.  Fussy cut around chickens and sentiments

6. Attach all the layers using adhesives of your choice

Paper Pumpkin April 2021

 

Hey!  Have you seen the April 2021 Paper Pumpkin Kit yet!?  Oh my goodness.  This one is full of summer fun!  This was the first kit that Stampin' Up! created with kids in mind.  I've got to tell you, they nailed it!  

This kit came with all the supplies to make 12 shaped cards...three each of four designs. Of course, they also included matching envelopes!

If you were one of the lucky ones to receive this kit, you are set for kids' birthdays all summer long!  

I love it when stamp sets include stamps that say 'hello' or the equivalent, like this 'hey there!' 

I'm looking forward to creating some alternate projects with this kit!  Check back next Tuesday to see what I've come up with. 

What's your favorite thing about Paper Pumpkin? 

Paper Pumpkin is a monthly subscription by Stampin' Up!  It contains all the supplies needed to create a paper craft.  The only additional thing you will need is a pair of scissors.  Every kit includes stamps and a Stampin' Spot (small ink pad) that you can reuse.  Each month Paper Pumpkin lets us know what the theme will be, but not what the actual craft is...that's always a surprise!

Stampin' Up! Silhouette Adventure Card

 

Hi and welcome!  I am so excited about today's card.  It uses Stampin' Up!'s Silhouette Scenes stamps and Sweet Silhouette Dies.  Unfortunately, both stamp set and dies are retiring next week, or when supplies are sold out.  In fact, it looks like the dies are already gone.  However, the stamp set is still available in both English and French. 

This card was inspired by a couple of cards on p. 174 of the 2018-2019 Annual Stampin' Up! Catalog  I was flipping through last week.  There was a pretty cool alphabet die set in that catalog that made a similar pattern to this one.  

I used Stampin' Up!'s Stitched Rectangle Dies to create these shapes 👇 for my card.  Using the 3rd largest die, I cut random sized cardstock, making sure each was at least 4" long. I tried to somewhat center the corner of the die before running it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.  Then, I moved the die down a little, tried to keep it centered, and ran it through again.  (The first and last pieces I only ran through once.)

Once the pieces were cut, I arranged them on a 3" x 6" piece of Basic White cardstock, then glued them down.  Once the glue dried, I cut off the excess with my Paper Trimmer. 

The silhouette of the boy was stamped in Basic Gray on the front of the card, as well as inside the card. 

MEASUREMENTS

Card Base ~ 6-1/2" x 6-1/4", scored at 3-1/4"

Basic White ~ (2) 6" x 3"

6 colors of scraps, most measuring at least 4"

Basic Gray scrap big enough for die cut sentiment, flowers, etc

Stampin' Up! So Much Happy Birthday Card

 

Hellllooo!  How are you today!?  We have had perfect spring weather here today.  Lots of sunshine and slightly warm temps.

I had so much fun creating this card this weekend.  I got the idea from this card 👇, which can be found on p. 45 of the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog.  My most recent order included the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder and I already had the So Much Happy stamp set and Happy dies, so it just made sense to create my own version of this card!

After using the Happy Die to cut out 'Happy' on the card front, I placed the card front in the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder and ran it part of the way through on each side, so that 'happy' didn't get embossed. Once that was done, I added the DSP layer behind 'happy' using Stampin' Dimensionals.  Then, I added Stampin' Dimensionals to the rest of the card front and Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the rest of the DSP. 

I used the Happy Dies to cut out the banner piece, twice.  Then, I used Blender Pens to color in the flags on the banners.  

Once the banners were colored, I trimmed part of each off and used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to attach them to the top of the card. 

Oh, and the 'birthday' was stamped on a scrap of Basic White Cardstock then fussy cut with Paper Snips and attached with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

Once everything else was attached, I added several 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots to the front of the card.  

For the inside of the card, add a strip of Designer Series Paper to the bottom of a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White Cardstock and attach to the inside of the card. 

I also added a piece of DSP 6" x 2-1/2" to the envelope flap, then trimmed around it with my Paper Snips. 

The So Much Happy Stamps and Happy Dies are retiring at the end of the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, or when supplies run out.

Stampin' Up! Pretty Perennials Multifold Birthday Card

 

Happy Friday!  Today's card is the first multifold card I have created in ages!  It was inspired by Try Stampin' On Tuesday's Challenge 502.  Isn't this a great sketch!?  I almost just used the sketch and skipped the technique part of the challenge.  Then, I realized how perfect this sketch is for a multifold card!

MEASUREMENTS

Card Base ~ 4-1/4" x 11", score at 2-1/4" and 7-3/4"

DSP ~ 4-1/4" x 3-14"

Coastal Cabana ~ 2-1/2" x 4-1/4"

Scrap of Crushed Curry and Flirty Flamingo

Linen Thread ~ 17"

Use Real Read to stamp the sentiment on the top right corner of the Coastal Cabana Cardstock.

Stamp a large flower in Flirty Flamingo on the Flirty Flamingo Cardstock and a smaller flower in Crushed Curry on the matching cardstock. 

Use a blending blush to blend Coastal Cabana over the red and white striped sheet of Playful Pets Designer Series Paper. 

Use the coordinating dies to cut out the flowers. 

Attach the Coastal Cabana Cardstock and the DSP to the Card Base using Stampin' Seal or Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  

Place a Glue Dot on the piece of Coastal Cabana CS so that it will be hidden behind the flowers.  Use that glue dot to attach the Linen Thread to the card (wrap it around twice). 

Attach the flowers to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Try to place them so they will help hold the Linen Thread in place. 

Finish off the front of the card with rhinestones on the flowers. 

For the inside of the card, stamp another flower from the Pretty Perennials stamp set in Coastal Cabana.  This is the flower and location I chose, but of course you can change it up. 

The Playful Pets Designer Paper used on this card will be retiring soon (in less than two weeks!)

Stampin' Up! Sweet Ice Cream Birthday Card

 

Hello and welcome!  I hope you are having a terrific Thursday!

Today's card was so much fun to create!  It was inspired by Global Design Project's Challenge 288. 

This challenge was to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) the chosen designer's card.  

Manuela's card is so cute, isn't it!?

This challenge immediately brought the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set to mind.  I started by adding patches of color to the Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper with the wide Water Painter.  

Then, I dipped the smallest Water Painter in a bit of Coastal Cabana ink in the Stampin' Pad lid and used it to flick small dots of paint over the card front. 

The ice cream and sentiment were stamped on scraps of Basic White Cardstock.  

I used the Ice Cream Punch to punch out ice cream and cone.  Then fussy cut around 'Happy Birthday' with my Paper Snips.  The ice cream and sentiment were attached using Stampin' Dimensionals. 

For the finishing touch, I added a few Elegant Faceted Gems to the front of the card in strategic (a.k.a. random) places.

 Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"

DSP ~ 3-3/4" x 5", and 2-1/2" x 6" (envelope flap - optional)

Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper ~ 3-3/4" x 5"

Stampin' Up! Dragonfly Garden Birthday Card

 

Hello there! So glad you stopped by to see what's been going on in my craft room.  I am loving today's card.  I have made several using Stampin' Up!'s Dragonfly Garden stamp set, but this is my favorite ♥

The card I made this afternoon was inspired by Sketch Challenge 656 at Sketch Saturday.  This is a great sketch that is very versatile!

I started by stamping the dragonfly on a scrap of window sheet paper using Staz On ink.  Notice I didn't stamp the entire dragonfly on the window sheet paper.  I really just wanted the wings. 

  Then, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the dragonfly on a scrap of Basic White Cardstock. I used a Stampin' Blend to color the inside of the body of the dragonfly on the white cardstock.

Paper Snips made fussy cutting around the dragonflies very easy.  For the dragonfly on the window sheet I cut out the wings and a little bit of the body.  For the dragonfly on white cardstock, I just cut out the body. I used glue dots to attach the wings to the body (place the body on top of the wings).  

As you can see in the 4th picture (below) I cut a Mini Stampin' Dimensional and used it to attach the dragonfly to the card. 

Measurements

Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"

DSP ~ 5-1/2" x 4" and Optional ~ 6" x 2-1/2" (envelope flap)

Misty Moonlight ~ 3-1/8" x4-1/2" and 2-1/2" x 5/8"

 Basic White (after cutting with the Rectangle Stitched Dies) ~ 3" x 4-3/8" and 2-3/8" x 1/2"

Basic White inside  ~  5-1/2" x 4"

Each cardstock layer was adhered using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The three ladybugs were attached with Glue Dots.  Aren't they a fun element!?

I stamped a dragonfly on the front of the envelope and added the striped DSP to the envelope flap (not pictured)

Stampin' Up! True Love DSP Birthday Card

Hi!  Welcome to my blog.  I love having visitors!  Thanks for stopping by.

This card was inspired by Sketch Challenge 211 at the Fab Friday Challenge Blog.  This sketch saved my day, because I was feeling quite uninspired when I got up to my craft desk today.

I started by cutting a piece of True Love Designer Series Paper to 5-1/2" x 3-1/2".  

Then, I used a Stitched Rectangle Die to cut out a portion of the DSP.  I ended up with one piece of DSP 5-1/2" x 13/16", the middle piece is 5-1/2" x 1-11/16" and the bottom piece is 5-1/2" x 3". 

After cutting the pieces, I used Stampin' Blends to color only the center piece.

Once it was colored, I glued the pieces down using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. 

(I precut cut card bases to 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" and store them in an old Paper Pumpkin Kit box.  So I just grabbed one after I chose what colors I was using) 

Next, I decided to stamp 'Happy Birthday' on a scrap of Granny Apple Green cardstock.  

Then, I fussy cut around the sentiment using Paper Snips.  

Side Note: I picked up a spare pair of scissors today from a local 'box store'.  They don't cut nearly as well as my Paper Snips!  So, I put them down real quick and used my Paper Snips.

Mini Stampin' Dimensionals were used to adhere the sentiment to the front of the card.  Don't have Mini Dimensionals?  You can always cut the normal size Dimensionals in half.

The finishing touch was a few Basic Pearls scattered around.  

I often decorate the inside of the card, but not always.  Sometimes I like to leave plenty of blank space for writing...this was one of those times!  

However, I did decorate the envelope flap with some of the left over True Love Designer Series Paper.
