Sunflower Thinking of You

Sometimes certain stamp sets make me think of special people in my life.  This one always makes me think of my oldest daughter, and my sweet aunt.  My aunt had surgery this week, so of course I made her a card using this stamp set.

The layout for this set was inspired by the crafters, and their sketch challenge PP530, at ThePaperPlayers.com

I colored the flower using Blender Pens and Stampin' Pads.  I like to squeeze the Stampin' Pads before opening them so I can use the inside of the lid as a paint pallet.  Another option is to put just a drop of the ink refill in the lid or on an acrylic block.

Here's a hot tip: when covering up a large part of DSP, cut out what will be covered so you can use it in another card!  I used the Stitched Rectangles die cuts to cut out the smaller two rectangles on this card.  I also used one to cut out the center of the Flowers for Every Season DSP under the woodgrain piece.

I kept the inside simple, just added a strip of the same DSP from the front of the card.  I like to use as much of the Designer Series Paper as possible so it's not wasted.

Hopefully this card will bring a smile to my aunt's face and let her know she is in my thoughts and prayers.
Happy Stamping!

  1. Such a pretty card, Judith! Your aunt will love it. This is one of my favorite designer paper patterns, and it is showcased so well on your card. The enamel dots are the perfect accents. I am so glad you played in my sketch challenge this week at The Paper Players!
