Stampin' Up! Butterfly Bijou Notecard

Hi and Welcome to my blog!  Today's card was inspired by this great sketch at TuesdayMorningSketches.blogspot.com.  I'm obsessed with these butterflies lately, so of course, it's what I immediately grabbed when I saw the sketch.  If you don't have the Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper, you can use an alternate DSP. Instead of die cutting the butterflies from the DSP, stamp them with the Butterfly Brilliance stamps, color them in, and die cut. Or, just use the Brilliant Wings Dies to die cut a solid butterfly, then die cut an intricate butterfly for the overlay.

MEASUREMENTS
(supplies w/links are listed at the bottom of this post)

Card Base ~ 8-1/2"x11-1/2", score at 4-1/4"
Card Front ~ 4"x5-1/4"
DSP* ~ 2-1/4"x3-1/4"
Inside Basic White ~ 4"x5-1/4"
Inside DSP Strip* ~ 1/2"x5-1/4"
Optional DSP* for envelope flap ~ 2-1/4"x6"

*when cutting DSP, always make sure it facing the direction you want it to go when putting it on your project before you cut.  (Make sure up is up)

INSTRUCTIONS

    • Cut cardstock according to above measurements.
    • Put the Card Front in the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder and run through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.
    • Cut out butterflies from the DSP with the largest butterfly die.
    • Attach your ribbon to the card front.  I like to cut my ribbon to about 4-1/2" and attach the ends to the back of the card front with glue dots.  Then, tie a bow and attach it to the ribbon with another glue dot.
    • Using adhesive of choice, attach the Card Front to the Card Base.
    • Attach the DSP to the Card Front.  I tucked it under the ribbon just a bit.
    • Using Stampin' Dimensionals, attach the butterfly to the Card Front.
    • Add 3 Opal Rounds above the ribbon.

    • Adhere the DSP Strip to the Basic White Cardstock (for inside the card), with the adhesive of your choice.
    • Adhere the Basic White CS to the inside of the card.
    • OPTIONAL: attach the DSP to the envelope flap, then trim around it.

I hope this post inspired you to get creative this weekend!
Happy Stamping!
