Stampin' Up! Approaching Perfection Birthday Card

 

This is my last post using Sale-A-Bration items from Jan-Feb 2021!  I thought Stampin' Up! did a great job with the Sale-A-Bration items this time and am sad to be putting them up.  However, I know they will be releasing more great things this year and look forward to seeing what those may be!

This fun card is another that is quick put together, doesn't take a ton of supplies, and can be adapted for just about any Designer Series Paper and stamp set.  I used three different adhesives on this card.  

1. Multipurpose Liquid Glue ~ This is my go to adhesive.  I use it for attaching most card fronts and cardstock on the inside of the cards.  On this card I also used it to attach the Granny Apple Green cardstock rectangle and the balloon. 
2. Mini Glue Dots ~ Perfect for attaching most ribbon.  That's how I used it here.  
3. Stampin' Dimensionals ~ I use these ALOT, pretty much any time I want to add some dimension to my card.  Here I attached the Basic White Cardstock with them. 

The inside of the card is decorated with another sentiment and a strip of the same Designer Series Paper from the front.

Sweet Strawberry Hello

Hello There!  I hope your weekend is kicking off with a sweet start!  Isn't this (Sale-A-Bration) Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!, well...delightful!  (See what I did there!? 😁)  This DSP pairs perfectly with the Sweet Strawberry stamp set.  Don't miss your chance to get it...February 28th (Sunday) is the last day to order and get Sale-A-Bration rewards. 

This card was inspired by Challenge #408 at CAS Colours & Sketches.  

Today's card looks like it has a lot going on, but I think that is mainly because the DSP has a lot happening.  This stamp set is a 'Two-step stamping set', which just means there is an outline stamp for each image and a stamp that will color in that outline.  So, stamping and punching each image was really pretty quick.  It helps that this is a cling stamp set, so it is clear.  Being able to see through the stamps makes it much easier to line them up.   

When I stamped the strawberries, I stamped the outline in Cherry Cobbler, then stamped the more solid stamp in Poppy Parade. I really like how this stamp is designed to make the strawberry look like I did some shading while coloring it in.  For the flower and stems, I stamped the outline with full color, then stamped the more solid stamps after stamping off on a scrap piece of paper first.  

Want to know a secret?  I wasn't sure what I was going to do with the flower when I stamped it.  Then, I somehow got a bit of red ink on the corner of the leaves on the right strawberry.  I didn't want to stamp and punch another one, so I decided to just cover it with the flower!  I like how it turned out.  Do you? 

The inside of the card is simply decorated with a left over strip of the DSP.

SAB Sympathy Card

 

Have you seen the Sale-A-Bration stamp set, 'Heal Your Heart'?  This set is perfect for letting someone know they are on your mind and in your heart.  I chose to use this set for Challenge 494 over at Try Stampin On Tuesday. 

Everything on this card is pretty simple and straightforward.  The only thing that might require a little instruction is how I used the die cut to cut around the sentiment.  Once the die cut was placed where I wanted it on one side of the sentiment, I ran it HALFWAY through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.  Then, I took it out and repositioned it on the other side, making sure it lined up in the grooves I had already cut.  Once I had it positioned correctly, I ran that half through the machine.  Perfect and easy way to make a die cut cut smaller.  

For the inside of the card, I used a 1/2" strip of the same Designer Series Paper that is on the front.  Then, added another of the sentiments from 'Heal Your Heart'.  

It took me longer to make this card than it should have.  That's because I kept wanting to add some ribbon, enamel dots or rhinestones to the front.  In the end, I decided sometimes easier really is better.
