Stampin' Up! In the Tropics Aloha Card

This next card was inspired by another challenge over at Global Design Project.  I love doing challenges, when I see a new sketch it gives me a great starting point for a new card.  Sometimes I have a hard time narrowing things down...there are so many wonderful options!  Here is the sketch for this challenge.  

When I saw this sketch I immediately thought of the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set and the In the Tropics Dies.  I am astonished that I completed the entire card front without stamping once!  

Doesn't this card make you want to go to the tropics!?  I love this pineapple for two reasons.  First, my family and I love to visit Hawaii.  It's our favorite vacation destination (but not one we get to visit often).  Second, after watching Psych with my oldest daughter and searching for the hidden pineapple in every episode, I kind of became obsessed with them!  

I have a tip for you about using detailed dies like this...

They make ALL the difference!  I didn't have any when making this card yesterday, but thought to myself, "No worries.  I have another name brand adhesive sheet in the back of my craft closet somewhere...that'll work."  It did work, eventually, on the 'aloha' and the flowers.  That was it.  I was done.  It was SO hard to work with, took three tries to get it right and that was it for me.  I just made a Stampin' Up! order a couple of days ago, but will be making another this weekend...primarily so I can get my hands on some of Stampin' Up!'s Adhesive Sheets!  

After my frustrating attempt at using the 'other' adhesive sheet, I cut some Mini Glue Dots in half and used them to attach the bottom of the pineapple.  The top of the pineapple was attached with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals and the card front was attached with Stampin' Dimensionals. 

I did finally get a tiny bit of stamping in before I finished this card.  I added a small pineapple to the inside of the card, and to the front of the envelope.
