Oh my goodness! I have mentioned before that one of my all time favorite stamp sets is the 'Hey, Chick' bundle. Well...Stampin' Up! is about to bring back that stamp set (something they almost never do), with a new matching die set. They ALSO are releasing a die set for the coordinating 'Hey Birthday Chick' stamp set that is in the January - June 2021 Mini Catalog. As a demonstrator, I got the opportunity to order these early, which I did, as an early birthday present to me! 😉 (Both bundles will be available for purchase February 2nd)
So of course, when I came across sketch challenge PP525 over at
The Paper Players, I immediately grabbed my new Hey Birthday Chick Bundle and made this fun card!
I thought the imperfect circles on the Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper looked a little like eggs when paired with this set, so was an obvious choice for a background. The more solid sheet of Oh So Ombre was perfect for the smaller piece of cardstock.
I don't think I have ever seen a real yellow and blue chicken before, but I thought this was a fun and different way of coloring the chicken. I think I might make another card like this and change the chicken colors to Smoky Slate and Daffodil Delight and make the balloon Bermuda Bay. What do you think?
I love the clear gems in the Flowers for Every Season Gems, and find myself using them a lot. They were the perfect finishing touch to this card.
I added another sentiment and the adorable little dancing chicken egg to the inside of the card with a splash of color. Rarely do I leave the inside of a card blank. I will also decorate the outside of the envelope before mailing this one off.
I hope you are inspired to be creative today. Happy Stamping!
